For the vast majority of the inhabitants of India, cows are sacred animals, regarded as the divine representation of Mother Earth. As such, they are treated with respect, even reverence, fed and sometimes adorned. In this piece, executed in white gloss finish porcelain, one of these animals is portrayed with an expressive look and adorned with a meticulously decorated diadem and necklace.
